A brief foray into finding a guild.

Recently I realised that my guild was going down the pan.

Progression had stagnated completely, tries at new bosses were just wipe-fests and, to be honest, I didn't overly feel like raiding with my guildmates due to the inevitable failure of trying to down a new encounter.

Now, my guild is at 2/6 and 2/4, and has been like that for nearly 3 months.

I didn't get it, and to put the icing on the cake, the officers started inviting blue geared trials instead of skilled epicced players who might help the guild progress.

So I decided to secretly jump ship, so to speak.

I have a few friends in thesecond best alliance guild on the server, Reckless, and they thought I should apply and that I would be a shoe in and that they would put a good word in and things.

So applications were filled out, good words were put in and it seemed like I was just ready for a /ginvite.

That is, until, the guild master, got involved.

He said recruitment was closed to paladins, even though most of the officers wanted me in.

So, I thought that there was no point arguing too much and let it go.

So anyways, I log in the next day and discover i'm no longer in my old guild. I whisper a few close guildies of mine and they say that I was gkicked due to the fact that I had applied to Reckless.

They found out.

Crafty bastards.

So anyway, I set out to find a middle ground between my old guild and Reckless. This is where it gets tricky because there seems to be an abundance of holy paladins on my realm. But alas, my search continued and I think i've found a good middle ground guild to gear up from and make my application to Reckless even more enticing. I'm currently in a guild called Novus Orsa, 6/6 3/4 with a well skilled and geared player base. I really hope that this guild will progress and that I can finally see Hyjal and Black Temple before Wrath comes out.

NB: I'm applying to the 2nd best guild on the server because the best, Arctica, is a Finnish only guild, so no luck there :P

So yeah,

I've decided to give this writing lark a bit of effort. I've chosen to actually come back and do this blog properly because of two reasons.

1) Seems like it could be interesting if I could somehow get an audience
2) I really need something to do right now at about midnight most nights

So there.

Here we go.

Starting tonight, expect a blog post every day or two.

I hope anybody that stumbles across this leaves a comment to let me know that people are reading this stuff.

Thanks in advance,

Hi, and welcome to this first post of my new blog, Swinging The Light!

In this blog, I intend to just ramble mostly, occasionaly providing insight into end-game paladin mechanics/tactics/builds and maybe reminiscing what it was like to level a holy(gasp!) paladin. I will also be talking about my experiences in new (to me) content and my guilds progression through the end game

But before I start posting properly, something that may take a couple of weeks for me to get into the swing of things, i'll just fill you in as to who I am and what I am doing currently.

My character is called Gloam, a Level 70 Human Paladin on Chromaggus EU (Armory Link). I am currently in Jaegermeisters, a well known PvP-turned-PvE Raiding guild. I am a holy paladin (50/11/0) specced obviously for PvE raid healing. My gear is good but not great but i'm working on that. Currently me and my guild are raiding primarily SSC and The Eye, with Kara and nearly Gruul's Lair on farm. We arent the best guild but we are well organised and friendly with dedication to progressing through endgame in a semi-casual manner. (ie. not raiding 5 hours a day, every day.)

Ill post about 2-3 times a week when I get into the swing of things, so I think ill write a proper article around tuesday/wednesday next week.

Until then, cya around
